Belfast Marrow

Give a Spit, Save a Life.

Who are we?
We’re Belfast Marrow, the QUB student group that aims to save lives from leukaemia and severe blood disorders.

We work alongside Anthony Nolan to help recruit people to the bone marrow register. When someone is ill with a leukaemia or another blood disorder, often the life saving treatment is to receive a stem cell transplant from a donor match. By being on the bone marrow register, you have the opportunity to save the life of someone who is in desperate need by a simple procedure. Marrow is represented in universities across the whole of the UK and in four other countries, but we still need to grow and expand. With more supporters like you, we can help to save more lives.

What do we do?
We organise recruitment events, where we sign more people up to the bone marrow register. In addition to this, we fundraise for Anthony Nolan through organizing activities such as a Belfast marathon team, open mic events and nights out. We also give students the opportunity to get involved and volunteer for us, whether you would like to help out at clinics recruiting new potential donors, want to help us spread the word or want to get involved in fundraising.
