Camogie

Camogie

Welcome to Camogie!

Camogie is very similar to Hurling, but it is played only by women (and there are some minor variations in the rules). Games are played by two opposing teams of 15 players with the object being to get the ball through the opponent’s goalpost. The ball can be struck with the hurley or the player's hand, kicked, and caught briefly.

We train on a Monday and Wednesday evening at the pitches at Malone Playing Fields. Monday from 7pm-8pm and Wednesday any time between 2.30pm-5pm. We play for fun - it’s a great time to relax away from our studies – and we play to win! We have entered www.ccao.ie/ which involves competitive games throughout October to Feburary time and involves participating in a tournament held over 1 weekend, which has always been a great weekend away with the girls. Nights that we are not training we also love to get together, either it be for a couple of drinks and a bit of food or a fundraising event. Really, we'll take any chance for a good nights craic!

Join us today and become an official QUB Camogie! If you don’t know how to play, we can teach you, give it a go! We’d love to meet you!
