Hong Kong Internationalisation

Hong Kong Internationalisation

Hong Kong Internationalisation Society is setup to improve the number of Hong Kong students at Queen’s. According to statistics, many Hong Kong students choose to study overseas for tertiary education after the change in the Secondary Education system in Hong Kong. So, our target is to identify Hong Kong as a potential individual market for internationalisation. The establishment of our Society would be a perfect medium representing Queen’s to handle queries and recruitment work in Hong Kong. Our committee would excel ourselves to promote the name of Queen’s so as to extend its brand name and raise its reputation among the Hong Kong community.
In short term, we would recruit student ambassadors from different schools at Queen’s. Then, we would strengthen our connections with both INTO Queen’s and QUB International Office. In long term, we would gather the members of the alumni in Hong Kong and unite the Hong Kong students with a more influential power.
Furthermore, we hope to cooperate with other societies in Queens to organise different kinds of joint-club events in future to create a more dynamic network.
As new students may struggle and may not get used to the life of studying abroad when they first come to UK, our Society acts as the second home for the students from Hong Kong. We welcome them and help them to adapt the university life and any difficulties they will face so that they will not feel alone and helpless.
New students can also meet more people and make new friends outside their own course because our Society is also a social platform for all Hong Kong students in Queen’s. Other than emotional support, the Society has contacted local Asian entrepreneurs for helping the students. We form a cooperative partnership with different Chinese restaurants in Belfast. These restaurants will offer discount for our member so that they can enjoy dishes with hometown taste at a more affordable price.
