Humanism is rooted in a belief in human potential, creativity and collective action. We value scientific progress, evidence-based decisions and human life and all of its diversity. We stand against dogma and the unfair persecution of individuals and groups.
We are all about being a space where people feel able to freely discuss and debate religious, political and philosophical ideas.
We also want to be able to support people going through a transition period in their belief system, or individuals that may be experiencing oppression because of their beliefs. We'll also be campaigning on such issues, as well as tackling unfair oppression of individuals in society as well.
We have a weekly informal drop-by/ get together on Wednesday afternoons from 2-3pm in the Common Grounds Café (University Avenue) and arrange regular events with guest speakers and socials. For more details like our Facebook page.
