Welcome to Jujitsu!
QUB Kaizen Jujitsu club aims to provide self-defence training coupled with fitness & conditioning in a friendly environment. Where Jujitsu is an old Japanese martial art which progenerates many other martial arts such as judo and karate from itself, “Kaizen” (Japanese for continuous improvement), indicates that this clubs ethos is about teaching techniques that are of benefit to those who might, unfortunately, be required to defend themselves.
The club has a number of highly qualified coaches and a mix of student and non-student members. There are no prejudices made about height, weight or gender, and it is our aim to accommodate any person who wishes to train at our club.
Training times are Mondays 8-9.30pm and Wednesdays 6.30-8pm. Classes are held in the dojo area of the QUB PEC (At the end of the minor sports hall). Newcomers are allowed to have a free trial to get an experience for jujitsu, and if they choose to stay with us, there is a mat fee of £1.50 per student, £2.00 per non-student. The coaches train with us in their own free time, with the ethos that it is a love of the sport that motivates us to continue to arrive each week.
