Orienteering is challenging outdoor adventure sport that's a combination of fell running and navigation. The aim is to find the best possible route around a course using a map and compass.

Each individual must find a fixed number of control points which are marked precisely on the map. Anybody can do it; young or old, fit or unfit, experienced or total newbie.

We meet once a week for an outdoor club training and chatting, plus sociable drinks afterwards! The location changes each week, so no training is the same, but will always be near the student area. Weekends are also busy with events in all kinds of areas around the country: remote forest, open mountains, sandy beaches, city streets or urban parks.

Club trips are common - we've visited Edinburgh, the Lake District, the World Orienteering Championships in Scotland and all four corners of Ireland. Plus the annual club trip to Finland/Sweden for Jukola!

We’ll provide equipment for events and membership is cheapest with Queens Orienteering – best time to give orienteering a go.
