A Bit About Us
The Union is run by you, for you – Queen’s students. You decide what we do, when we do it and where. No matter who you are, where you’re from, what School you’re in, or what type of student you are, we're here to help and support you. We're also here to represent you and your views, run missions to change stuff - be it on your course, on your campus, in your Students’ Union, in the University, in your community, or in the world. And last but not least, we're here to make sure you have an absolutely awesome time at Queen’s.
You elected five full-time Student Officers to do just that and they are ready and waiting to help and represent every single one of you.
But that’s not all the Students’ Union has to offer.
It's jam-packed with goodies! Located just across the road from the famous Lanyon building, your Union houses four fabulous entertainment venues – The Mandela Hall, The Speakeasy, Bar Sub, and the Bunatee – an SU shop, a book shop, a bank, an electrical shop, a coffee shops, a relax and study area called ‘The Space’, and loads of meeting rooms.
We have more Clubs & Societies than you could shake a stick at, ranging from origami to trampolining! Over 190 in fact. The choice is yours and you can join anytime.
We have a free, independent, confidential, and non-judgmental Advice Centre which provides advice about loads of issues like money, education, accommodation, funding your course, and your health and well being. Whether you’re worried about money, having trouble getting to grips with your studies, or just need someone to talk to, the Advice Centre is on hand and here to help.
We have a wonderful Enterprise SU team. Let’s just say, if you want to boost your CV, they have it covered. They can help you gain all the skills and experience you need to either land your dream job or even start your own business. They have loads of enterprise and volunteering opportunities, which will fill you to the brim with business know-how and real world experience.
So, let’s get started. Pop into The Speakeasy for a pint, a bite to eat, or a game of pool. Hear some of the biggest and best names in live music from around the world in The Mandela Hall.
Hit the SU Shop where you can buy your discounted newspapers, check out the branded hoodies, and grab your lunch meal deal. If you have a Student Experience Bursary you can stock up on all the stationery you need for the year and it’s free.
