Your Graduation Photography
The Students’ Union has provided an efficient and trusted professional photography service for over 20 years. This is the only University approved Graduation Photography and our profits are reinvested into the Union's services for our students.
We also have a comfy waiting area for you and your family with complimentary tea and coffee.

Our photographers are experts at putting on those graduate hoods and we also have a photo prep area for checking your hair/make-up before your photo is taken.
Plan ahead and make the most of your day!
We can take your photographs any time during graduation week, it can be a little busy immediately after each ceremony.
The SU Shop will be selling an exclusive range of Queen’s University Belfast t-shirts, hoodies and bears from our stall in the foyer of the Students’ Union.
This includes a range printed with your name and those of your fellow classmates on the back.
Live Steaming of Graduation Ceremonies
We know that it's not always possible for everyone who wants to see the ceremony to get a ticket for Whitla Hall so this year we will be showing a live stream of each ceremony on screens in the Students' Union so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ceremony in comfort.
(The video feed is provided via QUB Media Services. Any interruptions in service are beyond the control of the Students’ Union.)
Graduation week essentials from the SU Shop
Located on the ground floor, The SU Shop will be open throughout graduation selling a wide range of snacks, drinks and other essentials. Don’t forget to pick up your daily copy of the Belfast Telegraph for the graduation listings!
Celebrate at The Speakeasy
During graduation week, The Speakeasy Bar will be open for all to enjoy. We have a wide selection of local and international beverages, including a selection of sparkling wine and Champagne. Alcohol is served from 11.30am. The Speakeasy Kitchen will also be serving hot food between 12pm-8pm.
How do I register for my graduation?
Once your degree results have been published, you will receive an email to your QUB email account which will let you know when and how to register online through QSIS. You must “Print Invoice/Receipt” after submitting the information and remember to bring this with you if you are paying for graduation by cash and when you collect your tickets and gown. This is your Graduation Reference Page and you should read all the information carefully.
Where do I get my tickets, and how many can I have?
Tickets can be collected from the Academic Gown & Ticket Office, located at the back of the Administration Building. You must have made payment and have your Graduation Reference Page with you in order to collect your Tickets and Gown. You will be given a specified time to collect your tickets, depending on your ceremony.
Everyone is offered two guest tickets when registering. Additional tickets may be requested, but this is not guaranteed. Please check your Graduation Reference Page online on QSIS for confirmation of extra tickets allocated. This is normally adjusted 24-72 hours before collection of tickets and gowns. Graduands do not require a ticket to gain access to their ceremony.
Where do I collect my gown and hood?
You can collect your gown and hood from The Academic Gown & Ticket Office, Level One of the Administration Building (entrance door facing onto the car park at the rear of the Administration Building). Again, you will be given a specified time to collect your gown and hood on your Graduation Reference Page. Make sure you get the correct gown/hood for your degree! Double-check with the Gown Team.
You must have made payment via the Registration Wizard or directly to Student Finance Office, Student Guidance Centre and have your printed Graduation Reference Page with you in order to collect your Tickets and Gown. Graduation website: go.qub.ac.uk/graduations
All gowns/hood must be returned by 6.30pm on the day you graduate. Even more reason to get your photos taken before your ceremony!
