VP Education

NUALA MCADAMS

Hi guys!

I'm Nuala McAdams and I'm the Vice-President Education, some of you might recognise me as this is my second year.

I’d like to welcome all new students; I hope you have an amazing time while you are here. To all returning students, congratulations on your results and I hope you’re all well rested and ready for another year.

University is a completely new experience of education; you are in control! What classes you attend, what notes you take and what work you do at home. You don’t have anyone on your back to keep on top of things, so you need to keep focused. Work hard, play hard; that’s my motto – just be sure you are working enough to get the best degree you can at the end of it all. University is what you make it, so make it a good one!

My role as Education Officer pretty much means I am there to help with anything that relates to your academic experiences at University. From changing course, progressing, finding out about study support and making a change to your course. I’m here to help!

One way of making a change to your course is to become a Course Rep.  Being a Course Representative is really important! As a Course Rep you make sure students voices are heard and have the power to make real changes to benefit you, so get involved! Click on the tab above to find out a little bit more about Course Representatives.

I sit on a lot of committees across the University that deal with changes to your education, exams and the quality of your education. You can find a list of these committees under the tab above. Every month I will be writing about the main issues in education in the Education Newsletter; this goes out to Course Reps but will also be posted on the website so have a read and send me any comments you have.

University is your time to decide what you want to do; make friends, GET INVOLVED, study, and if you’re stuck we’re here for you!

If you'd like to see me in person, just call up to second floor of the Student’s Union and come into the office.

Have a good one,

Nuala
